We offer both KS3 & KS4 2-day placements in Outdoor Learning with Emotional Literacy
To support those with neurodiverse and anxiety needs from Y7-11
KS3/4 Outdoor Learning with Emotional Literacy:
Open to those in Y7-11. This course is targeted at young people who have a diagnosis of autism, OR have strong traits of neuro-diversity. This course is designed to help those who may struggle in busy mainstream environments where high levels of anxiety and high demands is preventing them accessing or even attending education. This course is designed around outdoor education and every aspect is planned with a therapeutic core. Helping students understand their anxieties and difficulties through developing their emotional literacy is encompassed in all aspects of this course. We will help students build friendships, confidence, self-esteem and reduce anxieties through positive social interactions. Although not essential, this course would be suited to those who have specific communication and interaction needs outlined in their EHCP. See ‘curriculum’ for further course details.
KS3: 2-days (Mon-Tue) with KS4 2-days (Wed-Thur)
This course is designed around a therapeutic approach by using the natural environment, the outdoors, animals and an environment that enhances physical and mental well-being. Outcomes include social and emotional development, building resilience, working with others, enhancing ways of effectively communicating to others and forming meaningful and respectful friendships. Students will be in a class of 6 students with 2 adults. The school day will run from 9.30-2.15pm and will also incorporate numeracy, literacy, emotional literacy, cookery, physical wellbeing and personal development. Some schools will access EHCP funding to commission places. Home schools are responsible for student placements.

Develop social skills, confidence and self-esteem through a therapeutic outdoor learning approach with like-minded peers.
